Here is a growing list of things to do here, in Bellingham, Washington. A list of fun for the whole family. There is so much to do around here of interest, things to keep us active, and many thing for sheer pleasure and entertainment. The possibilities are endless and only limited by the imagination.

1) Take a Bellingham classic scenic drive. There are many routes to take depending on the time you want to spend on the road. I'll take you on one along Chuckanut Drive. Chuckanut Drive is a popular scenic drive along the bay and offers breath- taking views and pull overs where you can take pictures and go exploring.
2) Visit one of Bellingham's museums. For a small city, they offer many different exhibits, all very interesting and some with hands on learning with take home benefits! Visiting the museums should be on everyone's things to do list!
3) Slip on those hiking boots, pack your backpack and, "Hit the
ol' dusty trail!" Hiking in Bellingham a very popular and favorite pass time with the locals. Not only will you explore the surrounding beautiful environment around Bellingham, WA but you will meet a lot of friendly people along the way!
4)Today is a good day to take in the arts and go visit one of Bellingham's art galleries! It'll take all day, perhaps all week, the see them all and benefit from the uniqueness of each one and check out the performing arts as well. You just can't go wrong putting these on your "things to do" list.
5) Plan to dine out! Our restaurants in Bellingham will leave you full in many ways! You just need to decide what you are hungry for and where you want to go. One of my favorite things to do is plan a great dining out experience with my husband. Hope you have one, too!
6) Take in a movie! Most of the time, because of being so busy, my husband and I wait for movies to come out on DVD, but there are a lot of great movies running these days, so why wait! Looking for things to do in Bellingham, WA on a Sunday afternoon? Get out and go see a matinee! (It's also cheaper to see a matinee if you are on a budget.)
7) Have you been to the Big Rock Garden? Don't feel bad if you haven't, I have been here over 5 years and FINALLY got up there and WOW! Shame on me! It's really an art-lovers paradise up there and probably Bellingham's best kept secrets.
8) Go for a cruise or book a charter. Has The Pirates of the Carribean sparked the pirate in you? Cruising is one of the world's most popular things to do these days, whether you go for a week or a day trip, it is an experience you don't want to miss! You may even see some whales on a special whale watching tour!
9) Go for a swim. All year long, if swimming is your thing, there are many places to go swimming in Bellingham, like the local YMCA, for your exercise routine or for sheer relaxation.
10) Volunteer in the community! There are so many ways to volunteer your services in Bellingham if you are local and looking for things to do. It's a great way to keep the kids busy. While raising our children we would engage them in many different caring programs.
11) Go to a coffee shop. It's no secret we love our coffee here in Bellingham and there are no lack of places to go. Many places are great social gatherings as well as a quiet place to relax and unwind.
12) Go berry picking and make some homemade jam! My husband picked up this love since we have moved to Bellingham. His jam is famous in 13 states! Makes for great gifts and you'd be surprised how many people will mail back the jar to fill it back up! There are 3 "U-pick 'em" berry farms around Bellingham where you can pick berries, fresh vegies, and pumpkins every year.
13) Go bowling! Bellingham offers 2 places to go bowling all year around. One is downtown and the other is off of the Guide Meridian!

Build a web site!
If a 14 year old girl can build a successful web site...if I can build a web site being computer iliterate, so can you! It's a quite addicting activity! It's a great way to keep your hard-to-please teens busy, too! It can also be a great family project!
15) Take a pleasurable and memorable day trip to the beautiful San Juan Islands! Complete information for that day trip here. You can take a ferry, sail, or fly!
16) Comb the beaches! See how many sand dollars and sea shells you can find at the bay! We love doing this with our grandchildren! I get a little excited myself when we come across some star fish or sea puppies, too!
17) Think snow! Go skiing, snowboarding, or cross-country at Mount Baker! Mount Baker is popular play ground for snow fun winter activities. Bellingham is pretty hilly in itself and when it does snow around here, all you need is a sled and some warm clothing!
18) Go to a wine tasting. I never really cared for wine till I moved up here to wine country. Going to a tasting can help you decide what flavors you like...red or white...and discover something new!
19) Browse the book stores in town. You never know what bargains you may find. Browsing is free, but you may want to buy a cup of coffee and while your browsing!
20) Go window shopping in Bellingham! You can literally spend hours upon hours window shopping and still not see all the newest and latest and unique things offered through out Bellingham. Antiquing in Old Town Bellingham will take you literally all day.
21) There are many youth activities for children/teens going on all year around in Bellingham to help you keep them busy and out of trouble!!
22) Hit the Links! Golfing has become one of the most popular sports in the nation no matter what age you are. Bellingham has 6 courses to choose from.
23) Go paintballing! Paintballing is a great way (and safe) to take revenge out on a friend or loved one! Bellingham also offers paintballing and paintball park! For directions and times to go check out

24) Try your luck at a nearby casino! check out our gaming guide! Going with a budget is the only way to go. It helps make winning or losing bearable and enjoyable. (I like to go for the dancing and live music entertainment!)
25) Speaking of which, "Let's go dancing!" This is my absolute favorite stress reliever! Dancing isn't just for teens and youth. Dancing is great for letting your hair down and recooping from a long work week! Great social sport as well!
26) Get pampered at a local spa! You deserve it! Perhaps today a great day to book a
massage and give your body the pampering it needs! I can "ooo and ahh"
about this all day! It's "one" of my personal favorite things to
do!
27) Check out all the thrift stores in Bellingham and antique shops around town! You never know what treasures and interesting things you will find! There are many of them right down town.
28) Check out what's new at the Farmers
Market for more great things to do, great food, live
entertainment, and friendly people will accompany you. The
Farmer's Market runs every Saturday in the winter months and
Saturday's and Wednesdays in spring and summer. The market is
downtown Bellingham on Railroad Avenue at the "New" Depot Market
Square. Also, the Fairhaven Village Green has a farmers market on Wednesdays in the summer months.
You will find locally grown organic foods, vegetables, fruits, and so much more at the Farmers Market.
29)Going organic is becoming more and more popular as well as just plain living healthy! Check out Live Healthy Guide! It will teach you how to assess what you eat and what that does to your health, how to stay healthy through diet and eating more natural foods and natural health information.
30) Go kayaking across Bellingham Bay or Lake Padden or Whatcom Lake! Written up in Outside Magazine, Bellingham was voted the "Best Paddling City" in the US! That's why I see so many kayaks on cars driving around town! Very popular on the things to do list here in Bellingham!
31) Go boating or fishing! There are many places to go boating and twice as many to go fishing in and around Bellingham... Bellingham Bay, Lake Padden, Lake Sammish, and Lake Whatcom, and Whatcom Creek, for fishing and boating recreation. Crabbing is popular among things to do, delicious, too! Maybe today is the day to go get that fishing liscense!
32) Discover deep see wonders! You can take scuba diving lessons
here, too! They say it is best to do in the winter becasue the
water is clearer. There are 2 scuba diving center's in town. Gone Diving and Adventures Down Under. Check out their web sites for more information!
The marine life around Bellingham and the San Juan Islands range
from anemones to orcas and the world's largest species of octopus inhabits Bellingham Bay!
33) You can go ice skating all year long at the Bellingham SportsPlex for family fun. The have public skating Friday,
Saturdays, and Sundays. For one week during Christmas break they
