The Daisy Cafe In Downtown Bellingham

by Bev
(Bellingham, WA USA)

My husband and I took our grand daughter to the Daisy Cafe, downtown in Bellingham, WA. What a great little place to eat! It's located in the Crown Plaza.

Our grand daughter ordered "The Cheesiest Sandwich", my husband ordered the mushroom burger and I thought I would "try" the Reuben. I say "try" because the last time I had one I hated it! That was some years ago and I haven't had the courage to "try" one again till we got to the Daisy Cafe. It just sounded really good and the aroma in there was encouraging!

It's really a quaint little spot with daisies on the tables...duh! And the service was fair and friendly. I noticed the lunch special was a patty melt. I also noticed there is no french fries as an option on their menu. I'm just one of those people who loves a good burger and must have fries with that! So I braved the Reuben. I really do love them, but....

I also noticed that the morning breakfast special was whole wheat blue berry pancakes! That got my attention! Love that for a good healthy start! I'll proble go back and give those a try! But everything we saw on menu looked good and you could order anything for $10 or less.

So after a bit of waiting our order came. (It really is worth waiting for a meal. If they come too soon it always makes me wonder how long in between them cooking it and it waiting for me to arrive?)

Anyway, all 3 of us were pleasantly pleased with our decisions! I asked my grand daughter, "Well, is it the cheeziest?" Without missing a beat she said yes and took another bite!

All the dishes came with side salad or coleslaw and these potato chips were pretty interesting as well as very good! They still had the potato peel on them. They were thick and not salty.

All in all, the Daisy Cafe is a great place to go for a good lunch. Try the Reuben (if you like them)! You'll love it!
