Downtown Fairhaven (South Bellingham)

My husband and I went downtown Fairhaven this weekend to do some looking around Fairhaven and the shops, hoping to do "some" Christmas shopping. We have been through Fairhaven many many times but never really stopped to shop till now. Boy were we missing out!
There are a lot of unique shops down there. Names like, "Three French Hens" and "Two Turtle Doves" made it a real Christmasy feel to the whole shopping experience!
Many of the shopping nooks displays items made from local artists...pottery, paintings, wood-art, toys, and clothing. I guess you could say we were both in shopping heaven! We went to the Bellis Fair Mall the next day and it just was not as exciting or appealing as shopping downtown Fairhaven.
Three shops down there really stood out and drawn a lot of us shoppers in.
"Mud In Your Eye" will be a "must go back" nook. You can find the perfect gift for anyone there! The ceramic's are very nicely made and the prices are very affordable! They are located at 911 Harris Avenue.
"Fairhaven Toy Garden" on 1147 11th Street, was a great little toy store! We couldn't believe it! They have toys you will not find anywhere else in town! We bought our grandson one of those ol' red tricycles you can not find any more...the metal ones!...and,
"Wood Art" is a gallery of fine wood making. Prices were a bit high, but the quality of the wood and what is made out of the wood is a "must see" gallery. Many of the artists are posted in their shop and are from around Bellingham, some further away...California..
The whole shopping experience was great and will attract our shopping attention in the future!
It's great living in a city with 2 down-towns!!!
