Bellingham City Council Opposes War

Bellingham City Council opposing war in Iran? I didn't know the US was even considering it. I know we have problems with Iran, but to go to war with them as a result I think it's jumping the gun a bit...
Not sure I like the idea of the City Council speaking on my behalf. If Iran would do anything "worthy of war" in my own opinion, I would back up my country's decision regardless. So I am not sure where the Bellingham City Council thinks they can speak on behalf of 75,000 residents and say we all stand our ground on this and will not in any way shape or form support a war in Iran?
I'm not a "war monger." I am actually ready for our troops to come home from Iraq. But I do realise that sometimes war can not nor should not be avoided. I think it was long over due for Sadam Hussein's butt to get kicked! I'm glad he is no longer a threat to us, his own people, or to anyone for that matter!
So as for our dealings with Iran, I think the City Council is jumping the gun on this.
